The Buried Life Project!

#mbedchatblog  #mbedu  #engchat

Final project of the year! You will be creating your own version of The Buried Life! Here's what it will contain:

(1) An Author's Note written by you (250 words). See the author's note in TBL book for an example of what this should sound like.

(2) Your list of 50-100 items.

(3) "Visual" representations of 25 items.

Get creative here! Use all the tools you've developed this semester. Think about how doodling, word/pic mashups, newspaper blackout, post it notes, signs, social media, could be potential "visual" mediums for your list items.

However, feel free to use which ever mediums you feel most comfortable with (video for instance). Also consider the ways in which TBL visually shares items on their list (t-shirts, signs, on Penelope). All visuals must be orginals created by you- and must be marked with your name!

(4) "Now What" a written discussion of how you will/or have attacked one item on the list (250 words)

(5) Presentation to the class on the 21,22,23,24 of January.

Social Fiction De-Brief

 #mbedchatblog #mbedu #engchat

Now that you've published and submitted your Social Fiction Project, I'd like you to take some time to reflect on the writing process. With your writing partner, answer the following questions.  Each question should have a paragraph length answer. All answers need to be submitted on paper to Ms.McLauchlan, but pick your best two answers and post them in the comments section below.

(1) How did your story ideas start? Where did you find your inspiration?

(2) How did your project change over the course of creating it?

(3) How/why did you select your Social Media platform? How does it link to your short story?

(4) What part of your project are you most proud of?

(5) What did you learn about yourself as a reader/writer/thinker/creator?

(6) If you worked with a partner, give me specifics about each partners work load. Who worked on what? Why?

(7) Is there anything else Ms. McLauchlan needs to know to fully appreciate your project? Special touches you put on the project?

(8) Advice to future students working on this project?

Social Fiction Project-

  #mbedchat #mbedchatblog #engchat

Welcome back!  I hope you had a great Holdiay Break, aaaannnddd, got lots of work done on your Social Fiction Project, which is due this Wednedsay by the end of class!  Just a refresher about your SF Project:

Fiction

- Short story based on a visual prompt
- 500-1000 words in length (feel free to exceed this word count)
- Includes examples of: imagery, dialogue, and non-verbal body language, “so what” and any other writing techniques discussed in class.

Social
- You will create an actual social media profile for plot- or character(s) - of your short story.

- Choose the social media platform of your choice: Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, Blog, Facebook.

- Must have at least 20 posts/tweets/pins etc.

- Visuals must be created by YOU!! No stealing from the internet!!!

The social media portion of your project must integrate clearly with the story of your plotline. The social media is not just a visual supplement, it is the story too.
